Are you interested in better sales results for your food business?
It’s an amazing time to be growing your food business. Food and Grocery sales are worth £179bn 50.2% of retail sales in the UK and that is growing. A common challenge is deciding where and to whom to sell your products. The long debate for food businesses is whether to sell a few products to many customers or sell large quantities to a few customers. A lot of people go for the latter as on, the face off it, it seems easier. This many not be the case however. There are pros and cons on both sides. Selling to a big retailer often means, long payment terms, fulfilling huge orders, tighter rules on production and packaging, etc. On the flip side, perhaps you prefer to sell to a high-end niche market, want to create bespoke specialised products, enjoy faster payment, don’t want to become a big operation or deal with co-packers etc.
Whichever route you prefer, there is still an enormous benefit to understanding the methodologies of dealing with a large retailer. Sales is the life blood of every business and by understanding how to sell to the large retailers you will also understand how to sell to all retailers. Sales is a process that must be continuously followed to achieve any results.
